Job description
This role will assist the Planning Lead and Planning Manager in driving best practice in planning and forecasting; standardising this practice across the Finance function.
To be considered for this role candidates must be able to demonstrate a keen interest in technology and have an understanding of how technology can be used to enhance current ways of working.
It would be advantageous for the successful candidate to have technical software, coding or programming skills or experience, but this is not essential.
A key part of the role will be to interact and liaise with finance teams across the firm to interpret planning and reporting requests as well as assist with developing and enhancing modelling and reporting capabilities. Therefore candidates must have some financial knowledge and experience, ideally possessing or studying towards a finance qualification. Study support may be available after meeting the required criteria.
Job role responsibilities include:
Helping to develop insightful analysis on firmwide results and strategic priorities to inform decision making.
Working with the Planning Manager on budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling, recognising internal and external factors to understand how this might impact business planning.
Design and enhancement of reports and models, to allow PwC to be more agile in its planning and bring more insight.
Work with the development team to implement, enhance and maintain modelling solutions in line with the P&R CoE vision and ensure data consistency across different models.
Assist with the UAT process from writing test scripts through to sign off by the Line of Service (LoS) stakeholders.
Supporting follow up queries from the business and ensure appropriate SLAs are followed.
Responsible for continued stakeholder engagement ensuring that solutions are adopted and used to their full potential, taking on board feedback and ensuring that enhancements are captured.
Use the firm’s chosen planning software and data processing tools, as a key part of the planning cycles (3 year plan, Budgeting and Forecasts).
Using Power BI, Alteryx and Board to build reports linked to the planning models.
Involvement in understanding the application of predictive analytics and Machine Learning for the business.

Finance analysis and problem solving skills.
Inquisitive mindset towards technology in a finance role.
Proven track record of working with technology to build solutions to solve problems and enhance processes.
Ability to translate business planning requirements into technical requirements to support the design and development of innovative planning solutions.
Experience of working in a project based environment.
Ability to develop sustainable relationships internally and externally.
Track record of accurate, high quality work, with strong written and communication skills.
Focused on continuous improvement and learning in all areas of their work.
Professional services industry experience is preferred but not essential.
Possess, or studying towards, a relevant finance qualification (ACCA/CIMA).
Experience in the following technologies will be advantageous:
Advanced Excel.
Board / TM1 / Oracle / Anaplan or other similar planning software.
Alteryx e.g. Data wrangling tools.
Tableau / Power BI or other business insight software.
