Finance Officer
We are excited to be able to offer an excellent opportunity to join a well-resourced Finance function within a forward-looking, dynamic local authority. Following a successful restructure, we are undertaking a recruitment campaign to fill a number of vacant posts, seeking to further strengthen our existing Finance team to support the delivery of the Council’s new and ambitious 4-year Strategic Plan.

As part of the Campaign and alongside the other vacancies being separately advertised, we are now recruiting to 1 Finance Officer post within our Health, Adults & Community Finance team. This post supports the provision of an efficient, effective, and comprehensive financial service for the required range of financial and management accounting tasks. These include supporting the production of financial returns, reports and grant claims required for both statutory and non-statutory purposes, the allocation and recharge of central/ corporate and local support services overheads and corporate costs, assisting with journals or virements, assisting in the compilation of year end accounts and in year financial management support to the service officers as appropriate, supporting training to non-finance officers and periodic audit processes.
It is desirable that the successful candidates are part qualified and at their final stage of the AAT Accounting Qualification and preferably with some experience within a public sector setting.
