Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our finance team. The Finance Officer will be responsible for performing a variety of financial tasks, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and budget monitoring. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial systems, and financial processes. The Finance Officer will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Financial Recording and Reporting:Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and journal entries.
Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and financial transactions.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure proper recording of cash transactions.
Generate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and regulatory filings.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:Process accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices, expense claims, and employee reimbursements.
Manage vendor relationships, ensuring timely payments and resolving payment discrepancies.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
Prepare and send customer invoices, track payments, and manage the collections process.
Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable transactions.
Budget Monitoring and Financial Analysis:Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, providing analysis on budget variances.
Track and report on budget expenditures and revenue streams.
Collaborate with department heads to review and analyze financial performance against budgets.
Identify areas of cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Assist in financial forecasting and projections.
Compliance and Documentation:Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting principles, and internal controls.
Assist in the preparation of financial documents for audits and regulatory inspections.
Maintain proper documentation and records of financial transactions.
Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and accounting standards.
Financial Systems and Process Improvement:Utilize financial systems and tools to streamline processes and improve data accuracy.
Collaborate with IT and finance teams to implement system enhancements and upgrades.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Provide training and support to end-users on financial systems and processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Finance Officer or in a similar finance role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in financial record-keeping and financial reporting.
- Experience with financial software and systems.
- Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes and practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.

Salary: £18,413.18-£49,600.31 per year
