Job Title: Finance Officer
Location: Dumfries/Remote
Contract: Full time
Salary: £27,000 – 35,000
AJ Connect is delighted to be representing a third sector organisation for a mostly remote Finance Officer role.
In this role, you will play a key part in the review, preparation, and control of key financial information and transactions that support the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting. You'll support budget holders to manage their budgets effectively and continually seek to improve financial and procurement processes within the organisation.

Role and responsibilities
- Preparing and processing month-end journals
- Conducting balance sheet or revenue reconciliations
- Preparing financial reports and analysing information
- Reviewing actual vs budget positions with budget holders
- You'll also help maintain a robust relationship with our external payroll provider and assist in cash management, VAT return preparation, and statutory financial reporting.

Qualifications
- AAT/Equivalent qualification or qualified by experience
- Good working knowledge of accounting principles and concepts
- Experience of transactional month-end processes
- Experience of producing financial/management reports
- Experience in preparation of detailed reconciliations
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience in a similar environment
- Experience in preparing performance reporting
- Experience in reviewing and analysing procurement activity
