Finance Manager - Lease, Fixed Assets and Project Accounting

This is a really exciting time to join the Asda business as we endeavour to separate our systems and operations from Walmart due to the acquisition by the Issa brothers and TDR private equity.

You will be part of the Asda Finance transformation team that is setting the future direction of the financial systems, process and organisational design to pave the way for our exciting future under new ownership.

Please note this is 12 Month fixed term position, but a high percentage of our fixed term colleagues secure permanent opportunities along the way.

Your Role

Leases, Fixed Assets and Projects will all be migrating from our current system landscape – Deloitte Lease Controller and our Wal-Mart SAP instances.

• In preparation for this activity the candidate will be responsible for the following areas:
• Understand the new business design (SAP S4 and RE-FX) and the associated operational business transactions.
• Understand the new business processes and integration – ARIBA (Guided Buying) capital purchasing and RE-FX.
• Perform and co-ordinate data remediation activities along with the associated data reconciliations.
• Stakeholder management.
• User Acceptance Testing – script creation for defined processes.
• Training material creation in conjunction with the learning & development teams.
• Decommissioning Deloitte Lease Controller.

About You

• Understand month-end processes involving the accounting for: Capex, revex, projects, fixed and intangible assets, and leases.
• Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) with detailed understanding of UK GAAP accounting standard and particularly the complexities of IFR16 and IAS17
• Familiar with UK statutory reporting requirements for assets and leases.
• Extensive knowledge and operational experience in a large business with SAP modules – projects, assets and RE-FX leasing
