Job description
Role Category - the way you'll work:
This role has been categorised as home-based, meaning that you will work from home for the majority of the working week because you can fully deliver services in that way. Although you’ll be a home-based colleague, you might sometimes need to be physically present at another location or be expected to travel to a Thirteen hub for collaborative work.
The Role:
The Investment and Asset Finance team are recruiting a Senior Finance Business Partner on a permanent basis.
You’ll promote a culture of collaborative working to improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting on business decisions and performance. Acting as a key contact for executive and service directors, you will have a key focus on supporting current and future business strategies and priorities, playing an integral role in ensuring business performance meets strategic objectives through analysis and evaluation of operational and strategic decisions.
The role is responsible for leading a team of two Management Accountants to effectively deliver management reporting services on all activities related to maintaining our 34,000 properties. You’ll provide insight into the relationship between responsive repairs and the long-term investment programme to shape strategic decision making, effectively communicating the drivers of reported performance.
The Person:
We’re looking for someone to deliver a customer focused service, whilst continuously identifying and delivering service improvements. You’ll have effective communication skills, able to handle difficult or sensitive conversations and queries, and be confident in challenging senior management and offering solutions. You’ll also have the ability to analyse, review and report on complex financial matters and excellent problem-solving skills.
We invest over £80m a year in our properties through our in-house repairs teams and external contractors. You’ll have experience of delivering accounting services in a commercial environment, be familiar with trading accounts and the ideal candidate would have experience working for contractors.
You’ll be fully a qualified accountant, or nearly qualified and wanting to finish your exams, in which case, the salary will scale with your level of qualification.
The future is exciting, and we only want the best to be part of it.
At Thirteen we're about homes and so much more.....
At Thirteen, we’re more than just a landlord. We believe everyone is an individual. That’s why we don’t just provide properties; we offer a home to suit each person’s needs.
And we’re not just about somewhere to live; our range of extra services means we can give people a helping hand specifically tailored to them if they need it.
Our strength, capacity and ambition to deliver what our customers need means we can change things for the better.
We’re the largest housing association in the North East and among the biggest 25 nationally. Today we own and manage 34,000 properties in the North East and Yorkshire region, 30,000 of them in the Tees Valley. Thirteen is still an organisation that’s local at its heart - and although our work is largely in the Tees Valley, we welcome applications from further afield because our ways of working mean we can often be flexible about where our colleagues are based.
Our skilled colleagues and board directors work tirelessly to support 70,000 tenants and customers, bringing a breadth of experience and a can-do attitude to ensure a high-quality customer experience. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds to join our committed team.
So come and be part of making a difference. Great days for everyone are made at Thirteen.
Are you up for the challenge of bringing our vision to life and having great days at work?
