PetShop.co.uk Finance Manager Job Opportunity:

The Finance Manager role will encompass responsibilities including: attending and contributing at monthly board meetings, budgeting and forecasting, evaluation of commercial initiatives, reporting/analysis of PetShop.co.uk sales channels, and producing monthly management accounts to influence the direction of company strategy.
A portion of the job will be forward-looking - focusing on our budget, forecast and medium-term plans to ensure we are on track to deliver our strategic objectives. You will be an effective challenger to ensure we are hitting our potential as a team and spending money wisely.
Finance Manager Main Responsibilities:
- Ownership and analysis of key financial reports
- Ensure year-end and business accounts are delivered in an accurate and timely manner, working either with or without our accountants
- Controlling and overseeing business expenditure, challenging individuals and teams on overspending
- Working in partnership with directors on budget setting and reporting
- Ownership and management of our business accounting software, Oracle Netsuite (the worlds #1 cloud computing system)
- Ownership of Accounts payable/Accounts receivable processes, managing supplier’s rebates and promotional funding
- Manage the company's financial risks and ensure compliance with all financial regulations
- Work with HR to ensure best practices and efficient payroll processes
- Attend monthly meetings with directors to review periodic financial performance, provide insight to any variances, and proactively highlight any risks and opportunities to budget/forecast.
- Ensuring that all payments to suppliers are correct and on time (including to employees and the HMRC)
Analysis
- Looking for areas in which savings can be made to grow the overall profitability of the business
- Building financial projections, enabling senior management to see where finances can be best spent if required
- Building and putting in place an effective financial strategy, including budgeting and forecasting
What are we looking for in a successful candidate's previous experience?
- Qualified Management Accountant CIMA or ACA, ACCA qualifications
- Previous experience working within retail/ eCommerce environment, building key financial reports and understanding key drivers for performance - desirable but not essential
- Familiarity with ERP Accounting software e.g. Oracle Netsuite
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Someone who is commercially minded and focused on achieving the best results for the business
- Previous experience of working directly with senior management
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail with a right first-time approach

Part-time hours: 22.5 - 25 per week
Salary: £40,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
