Currently recruiting a Finance & Administration Support person to work within our Compliance Team reporting to the Engineering Leader (Central Laboratory). The individual will be responsible for timely procurement of goods and services for Central and Windscale facilities, with minimal impact to ongoing operations or maintenance and infrastructure activities and also for goods receipt and close out of invoices to ensure accurate spends are reflected on the Compliance budget. Good communication and IT skills will be required as the individual will be responsible for collating information from a variety of sources including manufacturers / suppliers, SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), colleagues and peers.

The successful candidate will be a NNL OneCard holder and become proficient on use of Business World (Agresso) financial management system.

Role Responsibility

Main Responsibilities for Finance & Administration Support (CS17):

  • A nominated NNL ‘OneCard’ Holder. Responsible for the procurement of goods supporting Compliance Team activities and timely reconciliation of the card with RBS each month, to ensure accurate costs are reflected on the Compliance budget each period.
  • Responsible for supporting Compliance Team demanders, in obtaining a valid quotation from suppliers for all proposed purchases.
  • Responsible for collaborating with external suppliers/contractors to clarify any technical issues.
  • Responsible for raising Purchase Requisitions (PR’s) utilising Business World financial management tool primarily in support of Compliance Team, for goods and services in support of continued operations and maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring goods receipts and invoices are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring all raised PR’s have accompanying Justification for Contractors (JC1) Forms as applicable and any other required documentation needed to support the submission.
  • Responsible for reviewing the Finance supplied Invoice Report each month and closing all that can be in a timely manner and for flagging up any concerns.
  • Responsible for attending Stakeholders / Planning Meetings as requested with Compliance Team members to collect and edit any information to support the procurement of goods or services.
  • Responsible for maintaining good communication lines with demanders, customers, suppliers and peers regarding procurement of goods and services.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria for Finance & Administration Support (CS17):

  • Professional individual, educated to GCSE level in maths and English (or equivalent), with practical & relevant experience in a customer facing role.
  • Requirement to become a NNL ‘OneCard’ Holder.
  • Good knowledge of Business World (Agresso) financial management system e.g. raising PR’s and managing Goods Receipts.
  • Evidence of proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office tools specifically Outlook, Word & Excel.
  • Must demonstrate an ability to gather, analyse and interpret occasionally complex information from several, sometimes conflicting sources, with a proven problem solving ability in order to make decisions based upon this information.
  • Ability to communicate concepts and key information to diverse audiences with varying skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, including willingness and ability to consult with Operational and Engineering subject matter experts as well as Peers and Customers.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and work on multiple workstreams.
  • Good written English skills including technical and procedural language typical in Compliance and Maintenance Engineering teams.
  • Evidence of self-motivation with demonstrable levels of drive, energy and resilience.
  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years’ worth of UK residency).

Desirable Criteria for Finance & Administration Support (CS17):

  • A general awareness of nuclear, conventional safety and security requirements applicable to their area.
  • Ability to remain calm under stressful circumstances.
