Role: School Finance Manager
Start date: 24.07.2023.
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 per annum
Working pattern: Hybrid working- 2 days working from home & 3 days based in one of our schools (Cambridgeshire, Peterborough or London (Blackheath) the school office 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. 52 weeks a year contract.

In this exciting new role, you will be part of the senior leadership team overseeing finance for all 3 of our schools, taking responsibility for all areas of financial administration, supporting and enabling both daily operations and longer-term strategic aims with effective financial processes, whilst ensuring the schools financial policies and procedures are followed.

About the role
You will provide high level financial advice to aid the planning, implementation and management of finances in order to ensure financial and business objectives comply with financial regulations.
You will cover a full range of financial tasks, including running monthly payroll, invoicing and creating financial forecasting models. You will be required to develop systems and processes as necessary to ensure they remain effective and fit for purpose.
You will be a key member of our senior leadership team, supporting financial operations across the schools, and will also report to the Head of Business Development and company Director.
As a School Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring that the organisations finances for all In toto ed schools are compliant by:
- Creating accurate invoices and liaising with key stake holders.
- Able to generate site cash flows.
- Creating financial forecasting models
- Able to run payroll across the organisation.
- Able to create multi-site budget forecasts,
- Monitoring and chasing outstanding debts from our finance system and other systems.
- Maintaining clear records using our accounting systems which include QuickBooks, and in turn create reports for the Head of Finance.
- Overseeing the banking of cash and bookkeeping.
- Processing purchase orders
- Paying invoices
- Filing finance papers
- Using QuickBooks
- Reconciliation of accounts and transactions
- Managing pension schemes
About you
We are looking for someone with extensive experience of leading school finance and business operations, with a full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice/legislation, such as Safeguarding and knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess excellent communication skills, be highly organised and have an eye for detail. Ideally having experience in SEND education setting. You will be an effective leader who is highly organised with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to confidently use a variety of systems and databases. They will support the ethos of the school and be passionate about developing opportunities for young people.
