We are a London-based privately owned group of companies and are looking for a Finance and Accounts Manager to join the team to support the ongoing growth of the business. The role works alongside the outsourced bookkeeping team, external accountants, two other team members handling payments in their departments and the payroll providers for each business. It requires you to work across stakeholders to check and confirm their work and help improve their processes.
Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Working alongside the outsourced book-keeping team to check and confirm weekly accounts across companies
- Monthly reconciliations and payments to creditors including freelance teachers and associates
- Preparation and presentation of management accounts, reports and analysis
- Confirming and filing VAT returns and co-ordinating final accounts with external accountants
- Receivable follow up and credit control
- Checking salary statements drawn by payroll and scheduling payments
- Devising ways to streamline and improve finance and accounting processes
- Financial analysis of businesses being considered for investment and client businesses
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience working with UK small business accounts and finances (a book keeping/ accounting qualification would be preferred but is not required)
- Ability to maintain high attention to detail while working in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment
- Experience with Xero and in automating/ simplifying finance workflows
- Excellent MS Office knowledge, familiarity with IT, and good numeracy skills
- Willingness to work hard, an aptitude to learn, tenacity, and a growth mindset
The role is being advertised as a hybrid, full time role.
Work Hours: 8.30 AM – 5.30 PM, Mon – Fri. Sat and Sun, if required, at the beginning of each month (with time off in lieu)
