The role
This is a great an opportunity to work within Transactional Finance across our FCM European businesses consisting of Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, Nordics, and the Netherlands.
Reporting to the UK Head of Transactional Finance, you will also work closely with a broad area of the business such as FCM European Finance Team, the mid office support team and FCM operations.
With the primary focus for the countries being a change in their mid-office system over the coming years, a key responsibility for this role is mapping out the existing transaction workflows and support the design of the processes in the new systems. As a SME (Subject Matter Expert), you will ensure these processes are robust, efficient and strong financial controls have been implemented in this design of the flows.
With the recent globalisation of Transactional Finance, this role will play a pivotal role in the journey of setting a framework which delivers a consistent and standardised service whilst implementing automation where possible. You will join a community who are passionate for continuously improving our function as the company continues to evolve.
What we require
- Strong communication skills, both spoken and written, with an ability to communicate with finance and non-finance individuals.
- A strong attention to detail and understanding of the importance of accuracy.
- Experience of having worked in transactional finance and is now a Part-qualified accountant or above (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent), with relevant degree.
- A logical approach to problem solving.
- A passion and aptitude for process reengineering
- Appreciation of accounting fundamentals and importance of strong financial controls
- Ability to work to deadlines and deliver on commitments.
- Good time management; being flexible and adaptable.
- A keen desire to learn new things.
- A proven focus on improving efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
