Commercial Finance Manager | Online Fashion Retail Business | London | Hybrid | £50-55k
Consumer Additions are currently working with an Online Fashion Trading Platform, they are looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to join the team based in Central London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as bookkeeping, invoicing, and any other relevant transactions.
- Production of timely and accurate management accounts with all associated balance sheet reconciliations.
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company.
- Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
- Production of annual accounts to full audit standards.
- Review financial data and prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
- Present financial reports to board members, stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings whenever appropriate.
- General analytical work and support for the CFO including reports as and when required.
- Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
- Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
- Support the Buying Director & Product Merchandiser to ensure buying plans support company financial forecasts.
- Create financial analysis to support new store openings & commercial negotiations.
- Preparation of projections for new projects and general business development
- Cash flow management.
- Regular bank reconciliations.
- Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends.
- Help to produce annual and monthly budgets.
- Review store opening costs versus business case
- Management and production of timely and accurate VAT returns in line with HMRC expectations.
- Contribution to annual R&D tax claims.
- Ensure smooth running of all payroll functions as necessary.
- Pension management including implementing new legislation where appropriate.
- Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g., auditors, solicitors, bankers, and statutory organisations such as HMRC.
- Support store openings as required.
- Ad hoc project work as deemed appropriate.
- Develop and improve existing systems, policies, and procedures.
Key Requirements:
- Our ideal candidate will have a finance background, preferably with a degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field, and either a professional accountancy qualification or qualified by experience.
- You will have several years of experience in a finance role; solid communication skills, both written and verbal who can manage across different levels of the business both internally (to finance and non-finance), and externally with brands, host platforms and suppliers; deep understanding of business principles and practices; planning skills; research skills; analytical skills; critical thinking skills; problem-solving skills; computer skills; honesty and integrity.
- You will be a talented multi-tasker, well organised and good at understanding the big picture while also having a keen eye for detail.
- You must be able to work in a small office environment as part of a close-knit team, willing to get involved in all aspects of the business.
- You will be proactive, working effectively under your own initiative as well as part of a team and be able to successfully manage high volumes of queries and be able to prioritise these effectively.
- The role will require you to work at least two days per week from our London office (currently located on at 66-68 Haymarket), with the remainder to be worked remotely. Ability to travel around the UK to stores on occasions is essential.
