Senior FPGA Engineer
Chelmsford - Hybrid
£60 - £ 80 per hour inside IR35
Working across the globe our client delivers innovative developments in technology for high performance systems and equipment across Civil Aerospace, Defence & Security, Space, Industrial, Medical & Science applications.
The Senior FPGA Engineer would be supporting the design and development of the FPGA and electronics designs.
Key Accountabilities - Senior FPGA Engineer
+ Working in cross-functional teams reporting to project managers to achieve project objectives.
+ Existing FPGA designs are typically produced using VHDL in Xilinx Vivado (7 series and UltraScale) or MicroChip Libero (PolarFire). A few legacy devices are in Intel/Altera Quartus. New PCB Schematic Designs are produced in Altium with many legacy CadStar boards. They also have use of Cadence Sigrity design and modelling tools for signal integrity analysis.
+ Provide bid and business development support in collaboration with other team members.
+ This level of support will include reviewing and specifying technical proposals, conducting trade off analysis and supplying estimates for effort and material cost.
Skills and knowledge required - Senior FPGA Engineer
+ Design of FPGA (Field Programmable Logic Devices) in VHDL language
+ Use of Xilinx Vivado and/or MicroChip Libero
+ FPGA test bench generation and simulation
+ Digital and analogue electronics design
+ Writing design documentation
+ Use of electronic test equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, logic analyser)
