The company
The Charity Partners are working with a Children’s charity based in West Yorkshire who are looking to appoint a Finance Manager to support the Financial Director and wider team.
The job
This position would suit an experienced, detail-oriented Finance manager who enjoys working within a team. This role is a critical part in the organisation, reporting into the Financial Director ensuring the organisations financial health is on track so informed decision making can be made from accurate forecasting.
This position is full time operating on a hybrid basis.
Duties include.
- Being part of the senior leadership team assisting with the delivery of the organisation’s financial strategy.
- Overseeing the day-to-day financial function including forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to the Financial Director.
- Working with stakeholders to produce an annual capital budget that is targeted and monitored against grants or funds allocated.
- Identify key risks using the risk management framework ensuring strategies are in place to minimise any threats and maintain business.
- Responsible for processing monthly payroll and accruals and reconcile payroll control accounts with HMRC. Ensure all payroll and pensions are accurate and data is correct within accounting software.
- Manage a small team overseeing all data is correct, completing appraisals and ensuring training is up to date.
- Contribute to the preparation of year end accounts for auditing ensuring a smooth process.
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity positions, making recommendations to optimize working capital management.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support management in driving the organisations performance and achieving financial goals.

To succeed you will have the following.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting regulations, and financial analysis techniques.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
- Possess strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
- Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Experience with financial systems and software (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, financial reporting tools).
- Be updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in finance and accounting to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks.
- Ability to produce accurate and timely financial reporting to internal stakeholders, management, and external regulatory bodies.
- Possess strong analytical skills, have exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders at all levels.
- Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
