Permanent, Full Time 37.5 hours

Monday-Friday (9.00am-5.30pm)

We currently have an exciting opportunity here at Thornbury Nursing Services for an experienced Finance Operations Manager to join our growing finance team, partly based at our vibrant and energetic Bristol offices and the rest of the time working from home.

Part of Acacium Group, Thornbury Nursing Services has over 35 years’ experience in responding to last-minute requirements bringing exceptional nurses to NHS and private healthcare organisations. As our Finance Operations Manager you will support the growth and development of 2 direct reports alongside overseeing the credit control function with is a Team of 9. You will also Develop new financial models and reports to provide insights and support management in taking short term and long-term decisions.


Everyday you will…

  • Owning the P&L and cash forecasting process
  • Drive the credit control team to improve cash collections and hit DSO target monthly.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc high level analysis of data to aid management decision-making, highlighting business performance.
  • To lead implementation of new process and process changes in the finance department.
  • Supporting the management accountant and business analyst in Month and Year End entries, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Weekly GM production.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc high-level analysis of data to aid management decision-making, highlighting business performance.
  • Support the Head of finance with the production of the annual budget and weekly forecast cycle. Co-ordinating and ensuring deadlines are met.

To thrive in this role, you must ideally have...

  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA Fully qualified
  • Recruitment sector experience desirable.
  • Experience working in a Management Accounting/Finance manager role
  • Strong IT skills (especially Excel, ERP, pay and bill systems)
  • Strong commercial skills and thought processes. Ability to analyse, interpret and challenge business results.
  • Strong People Management Skills
