New Balance are offering a 1 year paid placement to an undergraduate student, currently in the penultimate year of study, with a desire to follow a career in finance. The role will support the Pricing & Analysis team across both finance & product but with particular focus on the management of all aspects of pricing control, specifically intercompany & cost pricing that supports finance in the preparation of management month end accounts, forecasts & budgets. Training and support will be given, and you will gain a broad knowledge of a European finance department.This placement opportunity will start on Monday 3rd July 2023 and will be based in the Head Office (Warrington) full time.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Pricing & Standard Costs:
- Calculation and upload of intercompany price lists.
- Calculation, upload and maintenance of all standard costs in Finance systems.
- Checking order books for correct standard costing information.
- Invoicing reconciliation
- Support to Product teams in Sales Planning and RRP & Wholesale price setting
- Assisting UK Wholesale & Key Accounts Management Accountant’s in pricing clearance deals.
- Exposure to third party market tracking of NB Wholesalers across product & price
- Exposure to NB retail support - pricing & margin optimization mechanics

Other ad-hoc task as required to support the Pricing & Management Accounting team:
- Month End Financial & Management Accounting
- Forecast & Budgeting
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

Studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject:
- Finance, Accounting, Economics.
- Must be able to provide right to work in the UK
- Motivated individual, keen to learn about financial report and sports retail.
- Team player, organised, structured and able to manage priorities.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivots, Complex Formulae) and PowerPoint are advantageous
- Ability to pick up new IT systems quickly.
- High degree of accuracy and an eye for detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Continuous Improvement mindset.
