Job description
The post holder will be one of two Administrative Assistants providing administrative support to the pastoral team of the Deputy Head (Pastoral), Assistant Head (Pastoral), Heads of Year, Student Support Managers, the Head of Pastoral Curriculum and the Head of Boarding.
The Administrator plays a vital role in managing the day to day running of the pastoral side of the School and frees senior and middle leaders to attend to tasks and responsibilities that only they can carry out. The Administrator has a number of every day roles to accomplish but is also involved in the implementation of school and pastoral strategy and ensures that students and staff are supported.
This role requires someone to pay meticulous attention to detail, to have energy, enthusiasm and a calm manner and the ability to prioritise. They will have a flexible working approach and the ability to cope with conflicting demands and interruptions in order to meet internal and external deadlines. The Administrative Assistant will be approachable, have excellent people skills, strong written and verbal communication skills and a “can do” attitude. Experience of using a wide variety of Microsoft packages and databases is essential.
Roles and responsibilities will include activities such as, organising meetings, managing diaries, contacting various stakeholders, storing and filing materials, assisting with the management of events, and ordering resources, while having a full understanding of all the school's policies and procedures relating to Safeguarding, Prevent, and Health and Safety. This lists some of the main responsibilities, but additional tasks will be provided by the department.
This is a full time position, including 37.5 working hours per week.
Salary is scaled dependent on experience.
