Ground Transportation Systems UK (GTS) are helping to shape the future of the rail industry in the UK. We specialise in signalling and communication, collaborating with the biggest names in the industry to deliver the rail of the future. This role is expected to transition to Hitachi Rail as part of the transfer of ownership of GTS from Thales.
Our Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Graduate level Assistant Accountant to provide assistance with all aspects of cash and banking, as well as maintenance of our ERP system - ORACLE - and supporting our financial shared service centre. You will be part of our Central Finance team and report into the Finance Control and Reporting Manager.
Within this role, you will join up with the rest of our Graduates and Apprentices in a structured personal development programme as well as being offered study support to follow a pathway to either a CIMA or ACCA qualification.
This role will be London based, where you will work from our Quadrant House office in St Katherine’s Dock 2-3 days per week. We also have sites in Stratford, Waterloo, Beckton, Crawley, Birmingham and Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Cash and Bank management including reconciliations
  • Concur Administration support
  • Work closely with the financial shared service centre to help resolve any issue arising mainly in Purchase to Pay Process
  • Assist with VAT returns
  • Provide ORACLE ERP Support
  • Day to day Systems functional application support to the Shared Accounting Service (SAS)
  • Assist with ORACLE Sub-ledger reconciliation co-ordination
  • MDM Update Data Masterfiles ensuring data integrity and accuracy
    • Cost Centre maintenance on ERP, Workday, TM1 and Mytime
Technical Skills and Experience
  • Ability to produce detailed & accurate information
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Working knowledge of Excel
Human Skills
  • Enthusiastic, self motivated person
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Problem solver and ability to shape solutions out of complexity/ambiguity
Qualifications:
  • Graduated from a Finance or Business related subject
  • Desire to study for a professional accountancy qualification
