The role
This role supports the Finance Transformation Programme, which is a multi-year programme looking to remediate key data, systems and processes across the Finance organisation in order to meet the FTP objectives.
This role will require reconciliation of Financial data in the ledger, identification of data gaps and solutions to remediate and the preparation of financial journals to remediate the data.
This role will work closely with Finance SME’s, other data cleansers and Finance Systems specialists. Our Aspen Values are expected to be reflected in the delivery and performance of every role.
- Knowledge of financial data, experience with reconciliations of data, investigating data gaps, preparing journals (must have);
- Experience with accounting Ledgers, CODA experience desirable.
- Very good knowledge of English (verbal and written);
- Strong in data analysis
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup and etc.);
- Strong attention to detail;
Capable to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
Key accountabilities
Strategy And Planning
- Contributes to the preparation and implementation of the project team plans to ensure these include considerations for delivery
- Determines own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of personal and team objectives.
Policy, Process and Procedures
- Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met.
- Respond to urgent data clean-up requests to achieve "quick win" goals, but also look for strategic solutions to redesign processes/enhance technology aimed to eliminate such situations that require special urgent handling.
Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus
- Provide advice, guidance and information on status of data cleanse activities.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal (e.g. Tax, Group Finance, Internal Audit, Group Investment/Treasury, Group Systems) and external auditors and bankers, to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations
- Develop relationships in line with the business plan for the division to support the achievement of its objectives.
Technical Performance
- Check and verify the accuracy and completeness of data recorded in the Finance systems;
- Remediate any inaccurate data in the system;
- Perform independent check of the data remediation results;
- Support projects and initiatives for strategic solutions improving data accuracy and completeness.
Skills & experience
Knowledge And Experience
- Good knowledge of relevant current statutory, legal and regulatory accounts payable requirements
- Thorough understanding of best practice accounting and regional accounting standards
- Excellent knowledge of relevant accounting software and tools
- Significant experience in data cleansing, preferably in Finance systems
- Significant experience in data management/quality aspect and ability to operate in the systems
