Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience)

Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?
The Finance team at Kaluza exists to provide insight on where Kaluza has been, advise on where the company is going and counsel on how best to avoid obstacles.
You will be an integral part of the Business Planning team within the Finance function at Kaluza. The remit of this team covers a number of critical areas & the finance business analyst will support across all of the below:
Ensuring the business makes the right strategic choices over the next 1-3 years and that these choices are articulated within relevant & accurate financial forecasts
Business Partnering with the rest of the organisation, particularly our software development teams, to help them make the right investment allocation decisions and ensure Kaluza generates value with all of our spend & resources
Choosing and maintaining the right suite of metrics to ensure our management teams have the information & insight they need to steer the Kaluza business on the right course
What will I be doing?
Data is the foundation of everything we do, and to deliver our vision we need curious, tenacious people who can turn this data into strategy and actions with their expertise. As a Finance Data Analyst at Kaluza, you will use data, analysis & insight to help the finance team hit their objectives. You will help design and set strategy and budgets for the rest of the organisation. You will use data to ensure that we are deriving the best value from our investments and our suppliers. Working with the wider analytics teams, you will ensure we are using the right metrics to measure the performance of the business & communicate this insight to senior leadership accurately and concisely. You will proactively derive insights, identify patterns and solve challenges with our financial and operational data.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with the creation of Kaluza's budgets and financial forecasts
Using our financial and operational data to suggest, compare & recommend strategic choices for senior leadership
Supporting the business with investment allocation decisions, by running deep analysis of prospective spend opportunities and providing recommendations to senior leadership
Defining metrics and building dashboards to support finance analysis, performance analysis, operations, decision making and product development
Working with our Corporate Finance team, you will
Analyse and recommend Corporate Development opportunities
Assist in investor relations
Take the lead on financial modelling
Tackling complex, cross-functional problems through the use of analytical techniques, statistics and hypothesis testing
Promoting ethical best practices in the way all data is used and processed, always ensuring compliance and security is placed first.
Is this the job for me?
Ideally you'll have/be
2+ years in a data or analytical role, with strong experience querying, analysing and extracting insights from data
Excellent Excel/Gsheet modelling skills
Experience working with more advanced analytical tools, ideally using SQL
Confidence in building and presenting meaningful data visualisations and experienced in using a business intelligence platform (we use BigQuery & Tableau)
Evidence of high numerate & analytical performance, either from studying, vocational or work experience. You must be able to tackle complex problems and delve into the detail while thinking strategically
Interest in using data in a financial context. You will be interested in future roles within the Finance business area. A qualification in finance or accounting is a plus (but not a prerequisite)
Proven track record engaging with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent presentation and communication skills - able to articulate results clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders
Have had significant exposure to
Working with financial teams and doing financial modelling
Technology engineering teams that build software products
Have Statistical knowledge including significance, hypothesis testing and basic probability theory
Experience of working in a fast-paced environment where prioritisation is required
