The Tahir Group has been in existence since 1979 when the first KFC was acquired in North East London. Since then, the group have grown considerably to over 46 sites across multiple brands from KFC, Starbucks and German Doner Kebab. The Group is also a Residential and Commercial Landlord and Developer.
There are now exciting plans to add further brands into the portfolio in 2023 as well as expansion into our existing brands. We are growing our team and currently looking for a Group Finance Controllerwho will be leading the finance strategy across multiple groups throughout the UK. We are recruiting our future key leader and to grow together for future success.
This role is perfect for an experienced Group Finance Controller who has achievements in leading their own team and has the desire to have a direct impact and a voice at boardroom level. Our Group consists of 11 Groups across 3 different Brands. You will be responsible for 7 direct reports.
The Group Finance Controller overall responsibility for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, maintenance and development of all financial reporting, financial systems, and information within the business. This includes local, Group and regulatory reporting.
The Role:
- Overall responsibility for the group accounting processes end to end.
- Responsible for managing and developing the Finance and Office Teams.
- Ensuring accuracy, timeliness, maintenance and development of all financial reporting, financial systems and information within the business. This includes local, group and regulatory reporting.
- Presentation and analysis of financial results to Key Stakeholders, Board Members and Banks.
- Continually developing and implementing the long-term vision and strategy of the group.
- Ensures the groups commerciality and profitability are attained.
- Working in conjunction with the Banks to assist in the assessment of group financial strength plus negotiating lending which involves preparation of cash flow forecast, interest rates and maintaining and ensuring group achieves and attain all the required bank covenants.
- Production of statutory accounts for all entities working with external auditors
- Responsible for overseeing payroll duties, reviewing and authorization of payroll, P11D and other payroll compliances.
- Ensuring compliance with all tax obligations including production and submission of all information required, such as, Vat calculations and submissions, PAYE, Corporation Tax, Director Personal Tax Returns.
Previous Experience:
- Proven 5 experience as Group Finance Controller
- Broad experience and proficiency in hospitality business
- Strong knowledge of business commerciality
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong team and personal coaching and development skills
Qualification:
- Qualified accountant, ACCA or equivalent
- Leadership and Management related achievements
Knowledge and Skill Required:
- Advanced IT literacy – Microsoft Office (Excel, Word ,Powerpoint).
- Proficient in all critical IT Tools such as Sage, and SAP.
- Proactive and like to challenge existing processes to achieve optimum results.
- Excellent management accounting skills including cash flows , budgets, forecasts and variance analysis of actual versus budget.
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
- Self-motivated with positive attitude.
