As the UK’s leading pub, cider and beer business, we’re home to some of the world’s best-loved ciders and beers, and a leading player in the international drinks industry. But there’s so much more to HEINEKEN than meets the eye.
Right now, we’re looking for a Finance Business Partner and a Finance Controller to join our Finance team at our amazing Edinburgh Head Office!
"Looking for the D&T Finance Business Partner to guide digital transformation funding going forward and support our EverGreen strategy" - Nejat, D&T Director
"Supports People Agenda Strategic ambition (3 year plan) acting as an advisor to People Director, supporting business decision making through a combination of analytical insights and mastery of HUK’s vision, strategy, and operating challenges" – Marta, People Director
The role
The Finance Business Partner will work closely with our Support Function Costs, maintaining a strong governance structure whilst supporting our People & D&T Directors to ensure delivery of our financial objectives on fixed cost base. This support will vary from monthly performance management to all aspects of forward financial planning. Working closely and building relationships with some of our UK Management Team to help them make informed decisions makes this is an exciting and influential role.
You will lead the planning process for the cost base, working collaboratively and cross-functionally for Personnel costs and working alongside key stakeholders for Support Costs.
You will proactively work with your key stakeholders to manage their cost base and cost saving initiatives and will deliver this through regular review of latest forecast and robust and relevant reporting. You will also support the business in capturing not only the cost of projects, but also the benefit of investment.
This role is key in promoting a culture within your teams of continuous improvement of procedures and processes from a Control of Net assets, and cost management perspective using external insight when available. Additionally, you and your team will manage our monthly finance reporting integrity throughout the year collaborating with R&A, HGSS and Tax to ensure there is a robust and transparent set of accounting statements every month end.
The team are currently recruiting for two positions, one with more business partner focus and the other with a more traditional finance controller experience.
As the Finance Controller you will play a critical role in protecting the business, with responsibility for ensuring robust governance and financial control is in place. You will be accountable for managing the balance sheet integrity throughout the year, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure compliance with our internal and external control framework.
The candidate
For this role, we’re looking for a technically strong and analytically minded finance professional. You’ll have the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders, both virtually and in person. Ideally, you’ll have a strong track record of business partnering and evidence of preparing reports which support the business with decision making.
If you have;
- Strong technical finance controlling skills
- A commercial awareness
- Experience in identifying and shaping opportunities and risks whilst delivering financial targets
- The ability to build excellent relationships
- Natural problem solving skills
Then this could be the role for you!
As we’re recruiting for two roles, ideally candidates would be equally comfortable with the business partnering side of the role as they are with the more technical finance controller role.
We embrace learning and growth and we anticipate there is scope to develop in this role. You’re also likely to bring experiences to this role that are not listed above – as long as you have a thirst for learning and development, not every box needs to be ticked when it comes to skillsets.
As this role is office based, please note we currently operate a hybrid working framework which allows us to capture the benefits of both working in the office and at home. For full time roles, we work a minimum of 3 days in the office, a Tuesday and Thursday are for all, with the third day being defined by the colleague.
