Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join our Cost and Investment team. You will use your excellent business partnering skills to build strong working relationships in order to provide insightful financial analysis of costs, support business case modelling, contribute to key decision making and proactively drive improved business performance. This is a hybrid role with remote working and some onsite presence in our central Leeds offices.

About the role


As Finance Business Partner - Cost and Investment, you’ll understand your business areas in order to provide insightful analysis and advice whilst also being able to flag risks and agree actions to mitigate them.

You will –

  • Use your commercial thinking to improve decision making, challenge the business on process, approach and submissions to ensure better outcomes for the Group and our Customers

  • Apply your professional judgement balancing timely updates to stakeholders with longer term analysis of emerging issues

  • Proactively drive improvement, forecasting and identifying opportunities to streamline and automate process

  • Act as Finance SME enabling the business to track progress towards targets and support the business to understand their commitments and progress towards achieving strategic cost targets


About you


You’ll have an Accounting qualification (CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA) or equivalent PQE. In addition, you’ll be able to demonstrate –

  • Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to form strong working relationships quickly

  • Constant curiosity and always looking for ways we can deliver process improvement and positive change

  • Ability to identify and address key risks/ implications

  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and make time sensitive commercial decisions

  • Analytical thinker able to identify key issues and gather data to drive improvement

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to converse effectively with key stakeholder

  • Evidence of professional learning and development to build and maintain skills and expertise
