Contract type: Open-ended - Full Time - 35 hours per week
Supporting management of the Deanery of Biomedical Sciences of the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine by providing financial information, insight and analysis, as well as other business partnering services.
The Opportunity:
Supporting College senior management teams by providing and presenting financial management information, insight and analysis, thus enabling development and delivery of their plans, budgets and forecasts. Providing professional financial management support and business-partnering services to department budget holders and their staff. Advocating application of finance policy and procedures across the University.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Degree or equivalent with a relevant professional financial/accounting qualification (e.g. ICAS, ICAEW, CIMA or CIPFA), or substantial vocational experience (typically 10 years) demonstrating development through involvement in a series of progressively more demanding work/roles.
- A proven record of accomplishment in managing relevant financial and administrative tasks.
- Experience of leading and managing significant projects and budgets.
- Experience of providing analysis and strategic advice to senior managers.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, proven ability to explain complex finance concepts and the implication of financial decisions to non-specialists, excellent analytical skills and admirable IT skills (in particular, design and use of complex spreadsheets).
- Superb interpersonal, people management and time management skills, with proven ability to influence others to achieve aims and evidence of successfully developing own team.
