We're Avanti West Coast and we're busy making rail the greener, cleaner, and comfier way to go. A joint venture between First Group and Trenitalia, we're going all out to transform train travel on the West Coast Main Line.
The Avanti West Coast Finance team provide proactive support to the Executive Finance Director, the Executive team, and the wider business on all areas of strategic financial planning and forecasting for the business, management accounting, internal and external statutory reporting, shared services, and financial controls.
We are currently hiring Finance Business Partner roles to join us. The role is based in our Head Office in Birmingham.
The Finance Business Partner role is a key leadership position, providing strategic and financial decision support to designated Directorate(s). You'll partner with designated Executive Directors, Heads of Department and Budget holders to review periodic performance, identify, and model risks and opportunities identified. You will be the Finance lead for designated Directorates, Annual Business Plan financials and Quarterly Forecasts submitted to both Group and the DfT and work in collaboration with the business to ensure financials align with operational delivery plans and commitments outlined in our train operator contract with the DfT.
Knowledge
- Rail industry finance experience beneficial, but not essential

Experience
- Sound Management and Financial Accounting experience
- Experience of managing cross-functional stakeholders

- Experience of project management an advantage
Qualifications Required
Qualified accountant able to demonstrable experience in financial reporting and analysis and strong communication skills.
