Role - Finance Business Analyst
Location - Remote - Must be willing to travel to client offices occasionally (Reading / London / Scotland)
Start Date - ASAP
Duration - 12 Months + Possible Extension
Rates - £500 - £550 Daily Rate Inside IR35 via Umbrella
Clearance Level - BPSS
Main Role Purpose
The post holder will be responsible for delivering the Chart of Accounts re-design, developing and maintaining finance team and other stakeholder engagement, and to support the business process change required to implement to all impacted systems. In this position, you will be responsible for detailed data analysis, to identify and target data issues requiring remediation, and drive the necessary data cleansing that is required to deliver the design.The successful candidate needs to possess a broad knowledge of both finance processes and systems to be able to interpret findings, establish the route causes of issues and recommend remediation actions.
In your role as a Finance Transformation Business Analyst you will have responsibility for:
- Delivering on programme assignments. Candidates will be expected to lead the delivery of changes and must be able to deal effectively with a wide range of technical and functional groups to oversee outcomes to a successful conclusion.
- Managing stakeholder expectations spanning group business areas with conflicting priorities
- Developing and maintaining trusted relationships with internal customers
- Ensuring management information is provided to and easily understood by programme lead, senior management & committees
- Ensuring timely escalation & control of risks, issues, dependencies and timelines
- Establishing best practices for development, leading Proof of Concept exercises for planning and reporting
- Understanding business models and help translate this into business requirements
- Working collaboratively with relevant teams Identifying opportunities for improvement
- Analysing data to provide recommendations of approach by identifying patterns and key issues
Skills and Expertise
- Accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) desired
- Minimum of five years relevant Finance Business Analyst roles
- Experience of delivering transformation projects within finance functions, either as a consultant or as part of an in-house change-delivery team. This could be finance technology projects (e.g. ERP implementations) or other operating model transformations or finance process-improvement
- Understanding of the impact of the relationship between finance and other functions (risk, tax, compliance etc.)
- Well developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with an awareness of analytical tools and data manipulation products
- Finance Domain knowledge with demonstrable expertise of finance data, finance systems and reporting solutions
- Well developed communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical problems in a simple, structured and compelling way to business stakeholders
- Experience of Oracle products would be advantageous
- Experience of utility sector or other capital intensive organisations would be advantageous
Projects / Business Analysis
- Understanding of the project lifecycle from requirements through to implementation
- Ability to work with stakeholders across all business functions to define requirements
- Ability to work with technology partners to translate these requirements into functional and technical design
- Appreciation of data and systems architecture
- Excellent Excel skills combined with strong data analysis experience

- Ability to professionally and effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of management
- Be able to effectively adapt to changes in deliverables and timelines due to Programme prioritisation
