Marketing Statement
Metro Vancouver Transit Police (“Transit Police”) is the leader in regional public transit policing, operating across 22 communities. It provides policing services to all modes of transit: Bus, SeaBus, SkyTrain and West Coast Express. In partnership with cross-regional police partners, Transit Police prevents crime and provides coordinated police services to transit users throughout the region. It also seeks to have a workforce that is responsive to and reflective of the many diverse communities it serves.
Responsibilities
Consolidates time keeping information and updates records related to time sheets, shift changes and vacations. Assists Sworn members with their time off requests. As the TransLink Security Management Ltd. ("TSML") MyTime super user, provides user training to TSML staff and responds to enquiries. Reconciles vendor invoices, corporate credit card statements, expense claims and Director disbursements and ensures they are processed and paid in a timely manner. Coordinates transition of STD/LTD/WCB absences to ensure all time is categorized and accounted for. Processes accounts receivable for sundry accounts. Provides MIS support; updates and executes spreadsheets and reports for internal and external clients. Processes bank deposits and petty cash requests. Prepares purchase requisitions. Reconciles travel expense claims upon staff’s return. Provides administrative support and performs other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Requires high school graduation plus basic business and accounting courses and training in various software applications such as word processing and spreadsheets.
EXPERIENCE:
Requires eighteen (18) months of previous experience in a computerized data processing environment which includes large volumes of transactional processing in time keeping, vendor invoicing, accounts payable/receivables and STD/ LTD/ WCB absences. A further period of up to six (6) months in the job is required to become familiar with collective agreement(s), specialized time keeping and accounting software, policies and procedures, key personnel and vendor billing procedures.
Conditions of Employment
