Job description
A Finance Assistant is required for a busy company in the Waterbeach area of Cambridge. This role is tosupport a busy accounts department, supporting the Financial Controller across both ledgers. As Finance Assistant you would process high volume invoices and query resolution with colleagues and customers, through to credit control.
This is a permanent and full time role, fully office based working Monday to Friday 9am -5pm.
Duties include
- Setting up new customers and suppliers on the SAGE accounting system
- Accounts payable responsibilities including processing supplier invoices and credit notes, statement reconciliation and communication with suppliers
- Assisting in the daily allocation of receipts and payments from bank statements and banking of monies
- Sending out payment links to customers wishing to pay by debit/credit card payment
- Credit control including raising credit notes, the resolution of customer queries, collection of outstanding monies owed to the company by account customers using e-mail, telephone and letter and issuing of statements if required.
- Administration and collection of direct debit payments
- Assisting with the documenting and updating of finance processes and controls
- Helping the financial controller with ad-hoc tasks when required and supporting the month end process by ensuring all source documents are processed and cash is allocated
- Monitoring accounts inbox and cover for accounts support inbox
Experience and skills required:
- Experience within a finance or accounts team in a busy office setting
- A good understanding of SAGE software
- Excellent communication and team skills
- Ability to work at a fast and accurate pace
