Role responsibilities
We are currently recruiting for an Delay Investigation Manager who will join the Planning and Performance team in a role that will guide the business on the Delay Attribution process and ensure it is in line with rules and procedures and fully adhered to.
This role will involve working with various managers and stakeholders internally and externally, including close working with the Network Rail Delay Attribution team so that delay minutes are attributed correctly so that the key performance metric – Passenger Time Lost (PTL) is accurate.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Manage Level 1 & Level 2 processes of delay attribution until each delay incident is concluded – with all necessary investigations carried out.
- Ensure that all TRUST Delay Incidents (TINs) assigned to TfW are investigated fully, using a wide range of bespoke industry systems and sources of information.
- Work closely with Network Rail to review and resolve any TRUST Delay Incidents that have been disputed.
- Audit any associated reactionary delay minutes to ensure the total minutes in the incident are accurate.
- Collate and review reports from managers across the business, ensuring they are valid so that disputed TINs can be successfully challenged to Network Rail.

Essential requirements to be considered for this role:
- Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities with excellent numeric, IT and analytical skills.
- Extensive knowledge of Excel and good knowledge of other MS Office packages
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across multiple functions and with various stakeholders.
Desirable requirements -
- Experience of industry systems such as TRUST, Bugle & TMIS is desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrable experience of working within the Rail industry with knowledge of relevant processes is desirable but not essential.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would be advantageous to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
