Job description
Finance Assistant
Preston Office, Agile Hybrid working.
Salary + Bonus Scheme + 28 days holiday + Other benefits
All good teams need strong foundations and support, and this is one of those roles.
You are a reliable, safe pair of hands who can provide a financial administration service across the accounts department.
Sounds straightforward? Well, it’s never that easy as you know if you work in finance.
You might be currently working in accounts payable or similar account’s assistant role who knows their way around these matters, but you know you can do more.
You enjoy the daily challenge of transactional processing, invoicing, journals, banking, payroll, reconciliations, credit cards, expenses, prepayments, and accruals collaborating with the wider finance team and knowing when to ask for help if you are not sure of something.
Reporting to our financial controller you will join a team that is evolving and in a transition period, trying to shake off the manual tasks with new systems and automations coming soon.
Therefore, you are comfortable with excel, data and using different IT systems. At Napthens we use Proclaim case management system so if you have any working knowledge of Proclaim that would be useful.
Your experience of accounts payable within an SME or similar size business would certainly be relevant. If you have achieved your AAT levels 2 and 3 then please share with us your learnings and career ambitions.
If you have worked in the legal sector, understand the nuances and the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) that would be a nice bonus but not essential.
Oh, and one more essential requirement, a sense of humour!
At Napthens, you are not another number on a spreadsheet, you have real opportunity to make an impact in this role and department.
