Finance Assistant
It is an extremely exciting time here at Cephas Care with the recent implementation of a new senior management team devoted to providing service excellence and supporting our staff. It is a great opportunity to join our team, the Cephas Care Group are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Finance Assistant to join our fast-paced finance department.
Hours: 40 per week
Salary: £23,000
Objective of the Role
To assist the team in producing accurate and timely accounting and financial information.
Skills & Qualifications
- You will ideally possess previous experience in a busy accounts’ office environment, you must be a team player and happy to assist other members of the finance team with ad hoc work when required to meet the departments deadlines
- You will need to be a good communicator, well organised and used to prioritising tasks.
- Experience of using accounting software essential Sage 50 Accounts
- You must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience in Social Care funding with Local Authorities or NHS would be a distinct advantage but not essential.
Main Duties
- Processing supplier invoices and coding to P&L.
- Maintain utility contract information and identify contract renewal dates.
- Maintain vehicle service, MOT, and insurance database.
- Assist with customer invoice process and deal with customer queries
- Assist with reviewing and placing purchase orders.
- Process daily bank reconciliations.
- Review debtor and creditor balances.
- Assist with ONS returns.
- Apply best endeavours to ensure all month end invoices have been prepared and posted.
- Apply best endeavours to ensure all inter-company recharges and transfers have been prepared and posted within the relevant period
- Maintain and develop monthly task checklist.

Person specification:
You will possess excellent communication skills
Experience of working in a finance environment and Microsoft software, specifically Sage 50.
The ability to function well within a team.
Ability to deal with problematic customers.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
