About the role
Reporting to the Head of Finance for the Power division, your role is to assist with providing high quality Management Information (MI) and commercial insight and to support the Managing Director (MD) of the Power North West business with commercial insight. This will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of accurate financial and commercial information
- Close control of working capital playing a pivotal role in the company and wider group investment
- Adhering to controls
- Preparation of relevant MI
Principle Accountabilities:
- Working with the Power Finance team to provide relevant MI
- Working closely with finance/commercial processing teams around the group to ensure control compliance
- Assisting with the tight control of working capital including:
- Cashflow Preparation
- Implementing and assisting with WIP control/reduction
- Challenging the business on billing and improving processes
- Maintenance of key tax control accounts
- Ad hoc projects for the Power North West business e.g. system integration
- Assisting in the review of payroll process ready for finance partner sign off
- Ensuring best practice controls are adhered to and enhanced
- Working with external auditors regarding annual audits
- Maintaining accurate and up to date P11d records
About You
You will have the following Essential Qualifications:
- Fully qualified accountant
- Chartered member of either ACCA, CIMA or ACA
You will have the following knowledge and experience:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role
- Working knowledge of project accounting
- Knowledge of the utilities industry would be beneficial but not essential
