The OCM is proud to be one of the most respected professional coaching and mentoring firms delivering a diverse range of services to our clients. This is a new role to work closely with the Finance Director, to help deliver a robust finance function, fit for future company growth and expansion.
This is a part-time (20-25 hours per week), remote working role with some expected travel for team meetings. During the initial training period it would be beneficial to meet with team members about once a week in the Banbury / Oxford area.
This role requires attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and to prioritise workload around deadlines. Previous experience in accounts payable and processing employee expenses is desirable, with further training and support provided.
This is a wide-ranging role, in a small growing company and it is anticipated that the role will broaden in scope over time and would therefore be ideal for someone with some experience, with the desire and capability to develop and progress.
Key Responsibilities:
To initially support the Finance Director and then take ownership and responsibility for completing the following accounting tasks:
· Purchase ledger - working with internal departments to ensure all supplier invoices are authorised and coded correctly
· Sales ledger – working with internal departments to ensure all invoices meet client requirements, are accurate and timely
· Set up of new suppliers and customers, following company policy and legal requirements
· Preparation and maintenance of Prepayments and Accrual schedules
· Processing employee expenses in line with agreed policy
· Credit card and PayPal account reconciliations
· VAT quarterly returns
· Payroll processing – internal point of contact and liaising with external supplier
· Reviewing various company procedures to ensure they meet legal requirements
· Other duties which may be necessary
Ideal Candidate:
· Book-keeping / accounts experience: 2 years (essential)
· Working knowledge of QuickBooks online (preferred but not essential)
· AAT/Part Qualified (desirable)
· Experience of processing employee expenses and the VAT rules
· To be committed to ongoing professional development
· Self-motivated with an eye for detail and the ability to prioritise workload effectively
· Ability to produce accurate work and consistently deliver to reporting deadlines
· Positive, can-do attitude and good communication skills
· Good IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook, and accounting software.
· Fluent English both verbally and written
