Finance Assistant
We are recruiting highly motivated and committed individuals who are interested in being at the forefront of developing pioneering projects to help transform British mental healthcare.
Our service is increasingly sought after by patients seeking fast access, high-quality mental health assessment and treatment, both privately and via the NHS Right to Choose scheme. We are recruiting highly focused, suitably experienced candidates to help us meet these demands.
Summary of role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and processing of financial transactions and procedures, as well as assisting the Finance Team with other duties as and when required.
The role will be home based but could be required to attend various meeting locations as and when required. The role will also adhere to the flexitime principles for PUK.
Duties/responsibilities
The post holder will have a variety of tasks, including the following. This list is not exhaustive, and Finance staff could be asked to perform a wider variety of duties to ensure resilience across the team.
As a Finance Assistant at Psychiatry-UK your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with and resolving financial queries such as invoice errors
- Preparing and raising invoices and credit notes to ICBs for RTC and NHS Contract patients.
- Producing documents using Microsoft packages, such as Excel to a professional standard
- Providing supporting data to ICBs to enable them to validate our invoices.
- Assisting with ICB invoicing cycles (Weekly and monthly)
- Dealing with queries received via email and portal tasks
- Any other duties as may be reasonably required.
Working conditions/effort
The post holder may:
- Be required to concentrate for long periods of time.
- Deal with frequent interruptions.
- Be flexible and adaptable to change.
- Frequent and long periods of PC usage.
- Be required to work alone.
- Be regularly presented with problems requiring resolution.
Qualifications/skills
This is a dynamic, fast-paced organisation. You will need a positive attitude and be able to work with autonomy and initiative to achieve and exceed goals and meet deadlines.
You will also need to have:
Essential
- Work experience as a Finance Assistant/Accounts Assistant or similar role
- GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C / 4 or above in Math.
- Advanced MS Excel skills – Essential
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure on occasion
- Attention to detail with the ability to detect numerical errors
- Organisational and time management skills
- Good communication skills
- Reliable and fast internet connection essential
Desired
- Knowledge and understanding of the financial workings of a private healthcare service or a similar business environment.
- Experience working in a mental health environment.
Job location
Remote working (preconfigured laptop provided)
You will need a fast, reliable, private internet connection to work with Psychiatry-UK, at least 15Mbps
