Position: Finance Assistant
Location: Plymouth
Salary: £23,100 pro rata
Hours: 16 - 20 hours per week (days to be agreed)
The Millfields Trust is an established Social Enterprise that is part of a movement to promote sustainable solutions to the regeneration communities. The Trust’s main activities are the provision of managed workspace that provide a platform to enable small and medium sized enterprises to grow and develop.
Surplus’ are used to promote long term change in the community by investing in our sister charity Millfields Inspired. The charity runs a programme entitled Widening Horizons which works with year 5 children in our seven local primary schools.

The Role
Sales ledger – including raising monthly sales invoices, posting bank receipts, issuing monthly statements, credit control and dealing with customer queries.
Purchase ledger – including posting all supplier invoices, credits, bank payments, paying suppliers and reconciling supplier statements.
Other duties to include; completing bank reconciliation, managing and processing the fortnightly direct debit payment collection, monthly petty cash reconciliation, assist with reception duties and answering the phone when required.
Key Skills/ Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar role
- Experience of using Xero/SAGE accounting package
- Strong bookkeeping skills
- IT literate
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
