Located by Wandsworth Common, Mascot Bespoke Homes was established in 2008 by our directors Chris Scott and Jonathan Martin. From their first venture, renovating a flat in Battersea, to the bespoke luxury full luxury house renovation projects we undertake today, Chris and Jonathan’s mission has remained constant:

The finance team

Our finance team work collaboratively across the whole group of companies; utilising their skills, experience and expertise to support a diverse portfolio of businesses. In this way, we share knowledge and experience across our finance function, whilst our talented team gain exposure to a wide range of interesting businesses at different stages of growth.

The role:

Reporting to our Group Finance Director, this role is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and experience, working at the heart of our finance team. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day finance operations at Mascot Bespoke Homes.

You will be a key member of the finance team and there is scope to take on greater responsibility and grow the remit of the role.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Booking supplier invoices onto our accounting software (Xero) in good time (ensuring accurate, ‘real-time’ management reporting)
  • Managing accounts payable and receivables for Mascot Bespoke Homes, including processing supplier payment
  • Preforming monthly balance sheet reconciliation
  • Liaising with suppliers and ensuring that monthly supplier statements are reconciled
  • Preforming daily bank reconciliations
  • Calculating weekly subcontractor wages from time tracking system and liaising with site managers for any discrepancies
  • Key point of contact for the subcontractors, ensuring that all documentation is up to date and accurate (including carrying out and monitoring right to work checks)
  • Preparing all aspects of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) including monthly returns, verifying subcontractors’ documentation with HMRC and monthly/annual statements.
  • Work closely with the finance team to resolve any issues within our systems and processes
  • Provide general support and assistance to the finance team

Person specification:

We are looking for a highly motivated team player with exceptional attention to detail. You need to be organised and tenacious, with strong communication skills.

· A problem solver, you will seek solutions and consult with others to get issues resolved

· You will have a proven track record of multi tasking and managing deadlines under pressure

· Detail focussed and highly organised, you will have experience in book keeping or working in a finance team

· A positive attitude and good humour are invaluable. Perfection is not always possible, but resolving issues with a pro-active, ‘can do’ approach is essential to this role

· Strong excel skills are essential. You don’t need to be an expert, but you must be willing to develop your skills (with our full support)

Useful skills and experience:

· Experience of working with Xero accounting software

· Polish language skills for communicating with the subcontractors on site
