Job description
We are Hackney Gelato, and we make proper ice cream. The company was set up by two chefs, Sam and Enrico who are passionate about delivering their product into Restaurants, Deli’s, Cafes, and shops so that everyone can experience Michelin star quality ice cream.
We are a small business, but we are growing very quickly which is why we need someone to come and help support our team with daily finance admin duties and responding to our customers enquiries.
The role: Finance Assistant / Customer Service Support
Temporary contract: We’ll likely need someone for a few months, maybe more based on 5 days a week (Monday – Friday). Working hours between 8am-5pm (1 hour lunch).
You’ll be required on-site 5 days a week for the first week or two but then we can offer some WFH days once you are familiar with the day-to-day tasks.
Responsibilities:
- We receive orders from customers every day, so roughly 50% of the job will require you to respond to customer emails and process their orders.
- You'll then be printing out these orders and invoices so that they are ready for the delivery drivers for the following day.
- The other 50% will be working with our Management Account and supporting with finance admin. This will include responding to queries in the accounts inbox, sending invoices to customers and processing supplier invoices.
- Ensuring our sales and purchase ledgers are accurate and in good order
- We’ll also need support on credit control. Chasing up customers to ensure they are making payments on time with the agreed terms.
What do we need from you?
- Someone with finance admin / assistant experience
- Excellent organisational skills
- Comfortable managing a busy inbox
- Great customer service skills
You don't need experience in the food industry or any prior experience processing orders, we can teach you all of that!
We're looking to take someone on ASAP so ideally we're looking for someone who is available immediately or within the next week.
