Frontline is England’s largest social work charity. Our mission is to create social change for children who do not have a safe or stable home, by developing excellent social work practice, leadership and innovation. We are recruiting a Finance Assistant to support our Finance Team in their day-to-day activities.
A little bit about the role
The Finance Assistant is a valued member of the Finance team in supporting the day-to-day activities of the Finance Team and ensuring that purchase invoices are processed promptly via Frontline’s cloud-based purchasing software (we use ExpenseIn). The role plays a key part to the Finance team being a trusted partner to our colleagues who are creating social change for children who do not have a safe or stable home.
This role would suit someone looking for a part-time opportunity to learn on the job and start a career in finance or in the charity sector. No previous finance experience is required, and coaching in this area is available for the successful applicant should they be looking for a career in this area.
Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
- Matching incoming invoices to purchase orders.
- Ensuring invoice information is recorded accurately in the system.
- Setting up new suppliers as required.
- Monitoring the progress of invoices through the system; resolving issues as they arise.
- Responding to queries and working with suppliers regarding payments and other issues
Please note this role is a 6-month fixed term contract with the possibility of extension and is part-time at 15 hours per week (but we can be flexible with how these are spread across the week)
A little bit about you
No previous experience in finance is required for this role, but we’d really like applicants to be comfortable working with numbers, and used to using technology in an administrative role. We’re looking for someone who can learn new systems and processes quickly, who is accurate in their work and has good attention to detail, especially with data and spreadsheets.
We have a fast-moving culture within the team and organisation, so we’re looking for someone who is who is well organised, details-focused and can use their initiative to do what works. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to build relationships with people and be willing to learn. There are lots of opportunities for growth and development in this role – and for the right candidate to make the role their own.
If you feel you have the skills to make a real impact and contribute to creating lasting social change for children and families, we would love to hear from you!
We have increased the diversity of Frontline’s workforce in the last 12 months, but we need to do more to have greater racialised minority representation. We know the value racialised minority voices bring and therefore, we are strongly encouraging applicants from these backgrounds to apply. We are also a disability confident employer and welcome applicants with disabilities. We ensure diverse shortlists for all our roles so when prompted, we would encourage you to share this information with us if you feel comfortable to do so.
