We have an two exciting new opportunities to join our team based at Great Western Road, Glasgow as Finance Assistant – Accounts Payable, on a 6-9-month fixed term basis. Reporting to the Finance Analyst, this role will collaborate with both internal and external customers when required. You will take ownership of the processing and payment of invoices, ensuring these payments are made on time to vendors.
- Processing and distributing purchase invoices for various departments within an agreed timetable.
- Processing invoices to general ledger accounts and cost centres.
- Creating supplier statement reconciliation on Microsoft Excel.
- Processing purchase invoices to purchase orders and good receipts where appropriate.
- Preparing large upload files from Microsoft Excel to SAP for multiple line invoices.
- Checking invoices for nature of spend and calculations and if applicable, for business VAT.
- Liaising with suppliers to chase any outstanding issues from supplier statements and payments.
- Liaising with internal departments regarding issues from supplier statements & payments.
- Accounting for all relevant taxes (mainly VAT) per our procedures and seeking advice when unsure.
- Any ad hoc duties relevant to skill set.
To be successful, you will have previous accounts payable knowledge, coupled with excellent organisational skills and proven ability to work with high volume of data processing. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and SAP would be advantageous.
