Job Description
Job Title Finance Assistant
Accountable to Head of Finance
Geographical Area Wiltshire, based at Carer Support Semington
Hours of Work 15 hours per week (Worked over a minimum of 2 days) Monday to Friday, plus occasional weekend/evening.
Grade £22,000 p.a. pro rata.
Purpose of the Post
To provide efficient financial support to the Head of Finance, all aspects of the day-to-day financial procedures. To process and maintain accurate accounting records using our online Quick Books accounting package.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- To process purchase invoices when received in line with the organisation’s finance procedures.
- To prepare purchase invoices for payment and send out remittance advice.
- To prepare sales invoices.
- To enter invoices and payments onto Quick Books, our accounting package.
- To check Carers expenses, make sure they are properly authorised and prepare for payment.
- To reconcile petty cash and enter onto Quick Books.
- To check and process monthly staff expenses.
- To assist with monthly bank reconciliations.
- To assist with month end reallocations of expenses and staff time.
- To assist with end of month Journals for prepayments, accruals, and depreciation.
- To assist with producing the monthly Management accounts.
- To file all online paperwork in a systematic way.
- To assist with year-end preparation.
Additional Occasional Responsibilities
As a member of a small team, the post holder will be expected as necessary to support colleagues by:
- Identifying appropriate sources of information, advice, benefits, equipment, and services which carers can access, and updating shared resource information to reflect this.
- Actively contribute and participate in publicity events and represent Carer Support Wiltshire in a positive manner and to raise awareness of carers’ needs.

- A flexible approach is required for this role, and you may be asked to undertake other duties from time to time as determined by your line manager and in keeping with the purpose of the post and after consultation with the post holder.
