Buglife - The Invertebrate Conservation Trust is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Finance Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin their career in finance while contributing to the conservation of invertebrates and their habitats.
Role & Responsibilities
Checking, approving and processing trustee, staff and volunteer expenses;
Checking and approving Purchase Orders;
Checking and processing supplier invoices for payment;
Raise and issue sales invoices;
Monitor and chase any unpaid sales invoices;
Reconcile all monthly credit card statements;
Assist the Finance Officer with the timely reconciliations of Buglife’s bank accounts;
Monitor and reconcile petty cash; ·
Ensure all financial transactions are timely and accurately recorded;
Co-ordinate and maintain paperless processes to support the finance function ensuring records are readily available for reference/inspection;
Provide professional and comprehensive support in dealing with finance queries raised by suppliers and customers;
Work to strict monthly and annual deadlines.
Qualifications/ Skills/Knowledge/Experience
Minimum of 1 years experience in a financial administration role.
Well organised and self-motivated; able to plan and prioritise work, using own initiative to meet tight deadlines.
Keen eye for detail and adherence to adopted policies and procedures.
Strong organisational and IT skills with previous experience of operating financial management systems.
Team player with a confident persuasive manner and a professional, flexible and positive approach.
Able to work effectively as a member of a team or on your own or with limited direct supervision.
Pragmatic, innovative, enthusiastic and able to motivate others.

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15 per week
Salary: From £20,319.00 per year
