Based in Wokingham

An excellent opportunity for an ambitious, financially-minded individual to join a successful business within a thriving leisure and hospitality sector.

We are a small, friendly finance team working for a highly regarded company within the hospitality industry. This is a full-time position based in our Wokingham office.

We are looking for someone with purchase ledger and bookkeeping experience to work full-time as our Financial Assistant.

A key element of your role will be the smooth handling of data processing, ensuring that invoices are handled accurately and also assisting with month-end reconciliations.

Main Responsibilities (reporting to the Finance Manager):

  • Maintaining the purchase and sales ledgers.
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure that orders placed are captured and matched to invoices.
  • Reconciliation of accounts and statements.
  • Posting supplier invoices and credit notes.
  • Preparation of weekly payment runs and setting up of payments on banking software
  • Liaising with suppliers as necessary.
  • Ensuring accounts data is up to date, accurate and reconciled.
  • Preparing orders for the 6 group sites

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a purchase ledger environment for at least 2 years
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Experience with an accounting package. Knowledge of Xero and/or Sage 50 experience would be an advantage.
  • AAT qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Enjoy working with people and being able to work as part of a team in the hospitality industry.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word packages including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Able to work accurately, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Willing to assist with general office administration and assisting the company operations management team as/when required.

Salary dependent on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
