The B Side: Skills & Experience
Summary of the CRM & Community Manager role:

Reporting to the Digital Innovation & Audience Lead, this is an exciting new role within the Audience team with a focus on the label’s strategy on CRM email. Instil best practice within the Audience and Marketing teams when it comes to email marketing and direct-to-fan communication. Collaborate and come up with innovative, cutting-edge CRM campaigns for Island and our artists. A focus on growing and engaging our first party data / direct-to-fan relationships.

Main Duties & Role Overview:

  • Work alongside the Digital Innovation & Audience Lead on leading our Island eCRM strategy, ensuring the team are developing long term plans and strategies for each artists; deciding which platform is best for fanbase – ECRM, Discord, Messaging applications, or all.
  • Become an expert using all centrally provided CRM systems, technology stack and analytical tools. Then provide day to day support to Island Audience and Marketing teams on all our systems so the label can execute their campaigns confidently.
  • Be pro-active to ensure the label are up to date with new CRM systems, technology & trends
  • In-depth data analytics to produce monthly performance reports & campaign analysis for both the label and it’s artists.
  • Be the keeper of our consumer data integrity under the new GDPR and data protection guidelines.
Be Influential
  • Be the CRM champion at Island.
  • Provide the marketing & Audience teams in the labels with an in-depth knowledge of the processes behind data collection and management, as well as the execution of high quality CRM campaigns.
  • A key member of Island’s audience/digital marketing team, working closely with Marketing team, Studio Island and Streaming & Commerce teams.
  • Ensure that you and the team provide context for the wider label team at every turn, whilst also advising and helping fellow Audience team members to do the same.
  • Instil best practice across the label, ensure for our priority breaking artists and company priorities have eCRM front and centre of all campaigns and provide support to be able to fulfil long-term, impactful and engaging campaigns.

Be Strategic
  • Develop creative and innovative ways to increase engagement and promote database growth across all Island artist CRM touchpoints.
  • In collaboration with the Audience Manager, devise communication strategies for all Island artists in cycle, utilising new technologies and developments in CRM systems.
  • Ensure Island’s CRM data is best optimised for segmentation across all channels.
  • In collaboration with the Audience Manager, devise and create inspiring, original, and forward-thinking CRM plans for key artists that nurture our existing fans whilst also acquiring new ones.
  • Develop Island’s CRM strategy across all channels.

Be Collaborative
  • Work closely with the Digital Innovation & Audience Lead and Audience Managers to ensure Island has a best-in-class CRM offering for our artists.
  • Work closely with the UMG central CRM team.

Be Commercially Driven
  • Work closely with the eCommerce, Audience & Label Marketing teams to increase CRM driven revenues.
  • Implement and execute CRM marketing strategies for music, merchandise and more alongside the Commerce and Marketing teams, all year round.
  • Focus on eCommerce/D2C at every turn.
  • Focus on driving pre-ads for upcoming single and album campaigns.
  • Focus on driving subscribers and maintenances of artists owned playlists on DSPs.
Person Specification
  • Proven experience working in CRM, Fashion/Entertainment or in a Digital Agency managing multiple accounts
  • Personable and actively emerged in music culture and its consumption across multiple channels
  • Highly numerate, analytical and results orientated with a clear focus on high quality and business profit.
  • Aware of current and emerging CRM Communication Technologies & Tools, Data Management Systems, Google Analytics suite, Digital Technologies, CRM in Social Media and Digital Youth.
  • Excellent IT skills including competency across all Microsoft packages, especially Excel and Powerpoint.
  • A strong working knowledge of Google Analytic tools, tracking parameters & analysis.
  • Diligent and reliable, capable of managing and delivering on multiple projects simultaneously and to a high standard, both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to make rational judgements from the available information, by demonstrating an inquisitive and analytical approach.
  • Experience of working with CRM systems and delivering qualitative & quantitative analysis
  • Very familiar with current issues and music-based trends; stays ahead of the game.
Desirable
  • Good quality Powerpoint presentation & HTML coding skills
  • Affiliate program awareness and data management experience
  • Pro-Active & confident communication skills with all levels of management
