Job description
We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work as a Finance and Purchasing Assistant in the Finance Cluster Team for the following departments: Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, Interdisciplinary Programmes Engineering Office, Multidisciplinary Engineering Education and Faculty of Engineering Central Services.
You will work as part of a Finance Cluster team to provide essential financial and purchasing support. This will involve liaising directly with staff and students and working with the University’s financial system, SAP (UBASE and MyPurchase) in order to process a wide range of financial transactions.
You will have experience of working within a financial role and processing financial transactions. You will be IT literate with experience of using Microsoft packages, whilst experience of working with SAP and Google Applications would be an advantage. You will have excellent communications and customer service skills, and be able to work effectively within a small team.
The Faculty of Engineering’s finance functions are organised into four clusters to provide effective inter-departmental working using electronic finance systems and standardised policies, procedures and roles. Each cluster has a Finance Manager who is responsible for overseeing the operational overview of the finance cluster, supported by a number of finance officers and finance assistants.
