Job description
We are seeking to appoint a Finance and Grants Officer to support the financial management in the Department. This will include core departmental financial activity as well as supporting the pre/post award management of Biochemistry’s diverse and extensive research grants and contracts portfolio.
Applicants should have the knowledge, intellectual capacity reasoning and analytical skills of a graduate or equivalent and have experience of preparing financial reports, grants reporting, implementing financial controls and audit purposes. You will have experience of working with Microsoft Excel and using this software to create high quality reports. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment and the ability to take a diplomatic resolution to problem-resolution is expected. You will have advanced numeracy skills and demonstrated ability in financial management and analysis and be able to manage and prioritise your own workload. A part qualification in accounting such as AAT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA or CIPFA and familiarity with University financial IT systems (Oracle R12, X5, BFT) would be desirable but is not essential.
This full-time permanent post is funded by the Department and is based at the Department of Biochemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford.
This position is graded on the University’s grade 6 scale, for which the salary range is £31,506 - £37,386 per annum. The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualifications and relevant skills acquired and will also be determined by the funding available.
