The Head Teacher and Governing Body of St. Andrew’s Primary School are looking for an excellent, committed and well qualifiedindividual who has experience in leading others to become the new Finance Manager. We are looking for someone who thrives on challenge, is highly organised, able to lead others and committed to obtaining best value for our pupils.
St. Andrew's Primary School Governing Body are looking to appoint an inspirational, creative and highly motivated Finance Manager to contribute towards the success of the school. The new Finance Manager will have responsibility for resources and budgets, manage the operation and delivery of support services in the school and be a member of the school's management team.
They must have significant knowledge and understanding of all aspects of financial management within schools, experience of dealing with personnel issues and the ability to lead on HR and Administrative functions within the school.
This position is part of the Senior Management Team of St. Andrew's Primary School and requires working closely with the Headteacher, Governors and the whole school community. The successful candidate will work alongside a dedicated and caring staff in order to promote excellent standards for pupils who are both hard-working and happy. The Finance Manager will play a key role in securing the success of the school.

The School Finance and Administration Manager is one of the school’s leading support staff professionals and works as part of the Senior Management Teamto assist the Headteacher in his/her duty to ensure the school meets its educational aims.
The School Finance and Administration Manager is responsible for providing professional leadership and management of school support staff in partnership with teaching staff, to enhance their effectiveness in order to achieve improved standards of learning and achievement in the school.
The School Finance and Administration Manager is responsible for managing all operational Financial Management activities at St. Andrew’s Primary School and ensuring the school budget is managed in an efficient and effective manner in accordance with agreed Council and School Policies so as to meet with the aims and objectives of the School Development Plan.
The School Finance and Administration Manager leads in the production of accurate and up to date financial information (school performance plans, budget reports, performance measures, etc.) required by the Headteacher and Governing Body to effectively manage the school budget and monitor financial performance.
The School Finance and Administration Manager represents the school on financial and related matters at relevant working groups e.g. Local Authority, other schools, community groups, etc. and models good practice when using different methods for communicating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
The School Finance and Administration Manager, as part of the Senior Management Team, advises on all grant deployment to ensure they meet SDP objectives.
The School Finance and Administration Manager promotes the highest standards of business ethos within the administrative function of the school and strategically ensures the most effective use of resources in support of the school’s learning objectives.
The School Finance and Administration Manager leads on all external contracts and procurement.
The School Finance and Administration Manager is responsible for Financial Resource Management / Administration Management / Human Resource Management.
Education/Qualifications/Knowledge
NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline e.g. business administration, accountancy.
Degree or AAT Accounting Certificate desirable
Excellent numeracy/literacy skills (minimum requirement GCSE Grade C).
Experience
A minimum of three years’ experience working in an office environment at a senior level, to include procurement and facilities management.
Experience of development, management and operation of administrative systems.
Experience of managing budgets and financial administrative procedures.
Experience of managing and leading staff.
Aptitudes and Skills
Good organisational skills and ability to work to agreed targets.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in order to meet deadlines.
Ability to effectively use specialist ICT packages and other specialist equipment / resources.
Excellent ICT skills, including spreadsheets and word processing.
Ability to interpret advice/statute and to devise policy/practice in the light of these.
Ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to relate well to children and adults.
Ability to persuade, motivate, negotiate and influence.
Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
Ability to work effectively, constructively and flexibly as part of a team, making constructive input to the management of the school.
