The role works within the Supply Chain and Logistics Finance team and is responsible for leading on Stock and Waste Reporting as well as supporting the Supply Chain Cost to Serve (CTS) team. This role is responsible for creating the assets required to effectively business partner, focussing on value creation and collectively strengthening our performance. The job holder will provide insight, analysis and commentary to stakeholders, aiming to influence and drive decisions and actions that improve the bottom line. This individual will support the Finance Manager and Head of Finance in Supply Chain and the wider Finance team as required.
What you need to do
- Take the lead on weekly Stock and Waste reporting ensuring it’s insightful, accurate and timely
- Work with internal teams including Supply Chain Analysis or ADA to complete analysis to resolve business problems and automate, streamline, and improve existing reporting
- Provide cover for the Stock and Waste Finance Manager’s as required
- Work closely day-to-day with CTS Project Managers and Supply Chain Operational teams to provide financial support and challenge in pursuit of the Sainsbury’s strategy
- You will be responsible for consolidation and reporting of CTS program benefits, providing financial rigor to ensure reported benefits are accurate and robust as well as communicated back to Supply Chain in a timely and engaging way
- Identify risks, anomalies and opportunities and flag these to the Finance Manager / Head of Finance for prioritisation
- Role will require a high level of stakeholder engagement to ensure CTS project updates are clearly communicated and risks and opportunities are fully understood
- In line with timelines and process set, work with the business to manage Forecasting, LV & Budgeting
- As part of the Supply Chain Finance team, you will support your Finance Managers and Head of Finance, advising on project progress and financial benefits
- Complete ad hoc / bespoke analysis across Stock, Waste & CTS for the business area as required to drive improvements
- Build business cases and support post implementation reviews
- Support the wider team on other Finance processes and budgets as required
- Attend business review meetings supporting our Stakeholders as needed
- Success in this role will mean being able to deliver timely, robust and accurate reporting and analysis; translating data into valuable business insight, communicating all relevant financial and non-financial information when needed
What you need to know and show
- Professionally Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA), or studying towards qualification
- Strong Excel and numerical skills, with an aptitude for turning data into analysis and insight and being able to clearly articulate this through your communication
- Strong commercial acumen
- To have a good track record of strong financial control, but also the ability to maintain such an environment
- Team player, able to work effectively within frameworks without direct supervision
- Effective communicator with all levels of stakeholders, including audiences of varying financial and commercial acumen
- Curiosity beyond traditional finance boundaries and ability to understand key business and operational drivers
- Self-motivated team player, able to work autonomously, prioritise with good problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritise workload whilst managing business and finance stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment
- Must have a strong eye for detail and accuracy
