Finance Analyst
Salary: £40,000 to £42,000 per annum dependent on skills and experience
Role: Full time, permanent
Location: Marylebone, London, W1 (On-site, 3 to 4 days in office – across Prism & Choose Love offices and 1 to 2 days
WFH)
We are looking for an experienced finance professional to join the finance function of Prism the Gift Fund (Prism)’s largest Collective Fund, Choose Love. The successful candidate will have an in-depth working knowledge of financial management accounts, reporting & data analysis, and will be key in creating and managing financial data across a wide range of spreadsheets and reports for Choose Love. This role will report into the Finance Manager for Choose Love and work as part of the Choose Love team. Key Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities of this role will be related to Financial Data, Reporting and Analysis, which would be approximately
70% of the time and remaining 30% will be related to general Finance Administration.
Database and Platform management:
- Help manage our payment merchant accounts and online donation platforms, including refunds, donor searches, allocations between different campaigns being run.
- Responsible for accurate allocations and reconciliation of donations according to campaign restrictions from various fundraising platforms (crowdfunding platforms, online website donations for various restricted fundraising campaigns) and funding streams. These include but are not exhaustive: individuals, payroll giving, foundations, Choose Love shop royalties, sale proceeds, events, auctions.
- Applications for setting up new fundraising platforms.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
- Monthly reconciliation of Bank and SAGE with the client’s bespoke database.
- Maintaining the database to a high standard, ensuring attention to detail and correlation with SAGE
Reporting & Analysis:
- Team up with finance manager in preparation of monthly Management Accounts/Financial Reports with narratives and presentations, investigate variances to identify efficiencies and improvements and ensure accuracy.
- Action wide variety of finance-based queries from the Choose Love team, and various ad-hoc reports and analysis.
- Preparing and maintaining annual budget, forecasts.
- Maintain error free restricted and unrestricted grant reporting.
- Maintaining the database to a high standard, ensuring attention to detail, ensure financial database is accurate, check for discrepancies and correlation with SAGE.
- Creating / designing new Google Sheet formats from scratch, purpose built for new use cases.
- Knowledge of a wide range of excel formulas to manipulate data and create reports.
General Finance Administration:
- Reviewing payments and disbursements and covering payments when required.
- Liaising with 3rd parties (online donation platforms, payment merchant, HMRC on relevant GA matters etc.).
- Provide support to the Relationship Managers on financial matters including financial due-diligence and compliance.
- Work with finance manager to ensure financial policies, processes, controls and systems are kept up to date and accurately followed.
- Work with finance manager and finance administrator to reconcile daily transactions, allocation of income and expenditure based on the different sub funds, partners, sectors. Overall includes the allocation of 500+ transactions per month, depending on the time of year.
- Reviewing and processing Gift Aid claims.
- Oversight of investment activities.
- Help with Payroll administration.
The Candidate

Skills, Qualities and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting/Finance with at least 2 years’ experience in financial reporting & analysis
- Excellent communication interpersonal skills, with ability to write clear reports and presentation
- Excellent Advance Excel skills, dealing with large databases & highly numerate. Knowledge of a wide range of Excel formulas.
- Proven track record and strong capability in financial reporting and analysis, using MS Excel and/or Google sheets
- Proven problem solving capabilities
- Ability to present to different work levels – up to Board Members
- Ability to work as part of a team whilst independently managing a busy workload
- Ability to work under pressure and able to multitask
- Demonstrate a positive approach to diversity and support for the organisation’s values and mission

Desirable Experience & Skills
- Experience reviewing and authorising UK and International payments
- Has prior experience working in a very small team, jumping into a large variety of tasks on a daily basis
- Strong computing skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, SQL would be an advantage
