A new permanent Finance Analyst role has become available! This is a great, high profile Finance Analyst role in the rapidly developing Ocado Solutions business. The role will work on business models, scenario analysis, profitability modelling and forecast for our Solutions partners as well as monthly reporting, analysis and commentary, budgets, forecasts and reporting of actual performance.
You will be working closely with the commercial teams who partner with our UK and International clients, various departments around Ocado and your finance colleagues.
You will be responsible for working with the Technology Solutions business to pull together and continually develop the budget, forecasts, actuals and business case modelling.
Working Hybrid with 2 days a week in the amazing Hatfield Head offices and 3 days working from home!
What else will you be doing?
Providing value adding financial insight, support and challenge to the Ocado Solutions Commercial team by building effective
working relationships including Senior Managers and with other departments in the business
Support the development of business case modelling for Ocado Solutions
Work closely and build an effective relationship with the commercial team to provide value adding insight and financial advice into
management discussions
Produce period management packs, analysis and commentary and present to Partnership managers and SFM/Head of Finance
Financial support for Finance Manager - review contract terms and undertake client profitability reviews annually
Assist in the Budget and Forecast process for Ocado Solutions. Reviewing allocated costs from other business areas and provide
a healthy challenge; understand key drivers for revenue and costs.
Continually identify and implement improvements to business processes to increase efficiency and ensure all costs are recorded
accurately in the accounts. Challenge and review results to seek opportunities to increase income/reduce costs and risks
Develop models to explain the cash flow impact of different scenarios
Preparation of information/ schedules for audit and external reporting
Maintain and enhance financial controls ensuring accuracy and robustness of reporting and continue to develop reporting for the Solutions business
About you
Essential skills and experience required
- Qualified CIMA / ACA/ ACCA or equivalent Accountant
- Experience of financial modelling and budgeting and forecasts
- Experience of strong business partnering and working in a matrix structure
- Strong Excel skills
- You must be able to prioritise and have a flexible approach, responding to the changing nature of Ocado in a timely manner
Not essential but an advantage:
- System skills including mainstream accounting packages e.g. Oracle, Hyperion

They will need to be able to challenge assumptions behind forecasts and budgets
Excellent time management skills, demonstrating high levels of accuracy, thoroughness and reliability whilst coping under pressure
Excellent communication skills as the role requires interaction across all operational functions of the business, both financial and non-financial
Candidates must be logical, self-motivated, proactive, have an eye for detail, confident to challenge business partners and comfortable operating within an environment of substantial change
