Job Summary
Our learning business covers our work with our clients from across several sectors including Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare (IGH), Financial Services and Corporates.
The Finance team in Connected Learning is a unique team within the KPMG business. We enjoy the benefits of feeling like a small start up whilst having the wider KPMG team behind us. We are a transactional finance team dealing with thousands of client and supplier invoices a month. A team of seven, we are responsible for all AP, AR, management reporting and technical aspects of the Learning business.
The role of Finance Analyst will support the other members of the team in carrying out their daily and monthly processes. The experience of the role will be as broad and far reaching as the candidate wishes to take it- with the ability to get involved in all aspects of the running of our department
The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the team to achieve a collective goal, build relationships and collaborate with colleagues across Connected Learning.
As a key member of the team, the Finance Analyst for Connected Learning must embody KPMG’s valuesand demonstrate a commitment toward the accomplishment of the team’s goals.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist with the raising of invoices and credit notes to our clients – ensuring data used is accurate and communications with the client are professional at all times
- Support with the chasing of aged debt on the account – investigating where blockers are preventing resolution to payment
- Assist with preparation of month end accounts – downloading and formatting reports
- Investigating transactions going through the accounts to aid with control over costs and revenues in the business
- Take a proactive response to problem solving – using root cause analysis skills to help improve processes and controls
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Be working towards a finance qualification
- Some experience of Microsoft Excel a benefit although training will be given
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Be self-motivated, able to work to tight deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Find enjoyment in data, numbers and detail
- Be able to work effectively within a remote working environment with colleagues based in disparate locations
- We would like the candidate to become SC cleared to be able to work on government documentation. They would need to be able to meet the requirements for this clearance to be arranged following their onboarding. National security vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
